OUR MISSION
Dance Donation is a Non-Profit Organisation (#246-376) that collects previously loved dancewear and dance shoes and delivers these to dancers in need from dance organisations within historically disadvantaged communities. Most of the dancewear donations received are personal donations. In other words, dancewear donations come from other dancers across South Africa, wanting to help these aspiring dancers, fulfill their dance dreams.
Financial donations ensure the operational sustainability of this social impact organisation. The majority of funding is allocated to national & regional transport costs, packaging materials & courier fees to ensure donations reach their intended, specific recipients, timeously.
OUR PURPOSE
Remove barriers to entry
Give aspiring dancers from dance organisations in historically disadvantaged communities, the chance to experience the advantages of dance, participate on a broader stage and perhaps even pursue a career in dance
Raise funds
In the future, be able to financially assist these aspiring dancers so that they too may participate in competitive events in order to learn, be challenged by others and raise the standard of dance in South Africa
Mobilise resources
Reach and inspire a network of privileged dancers, already established dance organisations and the general public to contribute and provide support so that the art & sport of dance continues to grow & evolve in South Africa
Change the narrative
Create opportunities, awareness and visibility of our South African dance talent. Change the narrative of IMPOSSIBLE and EXCLUSIVE to POSSIBLE and INCLUSIVE for every dance genre and every dancer in the country
